The Kyiv Resilience Center is an international training platform for psychoeducation and psychological support for Kyiv residents ensuring the functioning of Ukraine's capital. Its establishment was made possible through the collaboration of the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA), the Embassy of Canada in Ukraine, the Israel Trauma Coalition (ITC), the UN Population Fund in Ukraine, and the NGO "New Social Vector" in 2022 following the full-scale invasion.
Psychological support and psychoeducation for specialists in the fields of:
Training and educational programs:
Tetiana Melnychuk, Ph.D. in Psychology, Senior Researcher at the H.S. Kostiuk Institute of Psychology at the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, psychologist, trainer, ITC expert:
‒ "In 2022, professional psychologists from the H.S. Kostiuk Institute of Psychology quickly gathered and united colleagues who remained in Kyiv. We reached out to Deputy Head of the KCSA, Maryna Honda, who organized training and internships for city psychologists in Israel and later helped secure premises for training sessions. For three years now, the Center's psychologists have been conducting group and individual consultations to strengthen the resilience and capacity of women."
Yaroslava Popovych, psychologist, psychotherapist, ITC expert, MH4U trainer:
‒ "We provide psychological support to women and girls, women with children, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and professional communities (the majority of whom are women and girls). Our work focuses on preserving the mental health of women and girls to enhance resilience and foster growth in wartime conditions. Group training sessions for professional communities develop skills for delivering first psychological aid during crisis situations. After such training, participants have a better understanding of how to survive and maintain their mental health."
